Governing Body Speech of President Speech of Secretary

I, D K Jaiswal, welcome His Excellency, Mr. Suresh Manshestra and all the diplomats of the consulate of Nepal.

I also extend my invitation to the members for coming to participate in building the Trade relationship between the two countries.

I am really grateful to His Excellency for giving me an opportunity to be a part of building trade and cultural relationship between the two great nations of the world.

As we all know that Nepal being our neighboring country has always maintained a very cordial and warm relationship with us, especially with Bengal.

The relationship has not only yielded political warmth between the countries but given ample trade and cultural benefits for both the countries.

As per the trade scenario, lot of activities are going on from Bengal specially in Health and Retail industry, India has always been the biggest source of generating employment for the citizens of Nepal.

I, being an Hotelier myself can foresee the tremendous potential in Nepal and vice versa.

The role of the West Bengal Nepal Chamber of Commerce & Industry is not only to develop business but it will also play a pivotal role in exchanging culture. We plan to create platform for the talents of Nepal in India & also shape opportunities in Nepal for our talented Indians.

As we all know that Bengali Film Industry is making its mark felt in the entertainment world, we will try to promote Nepal in the Bengali film industry to shoot their films and serials in Nepal since Nepal has the most spectacular scenic view.

Bengal has always been a cultural heritage of India and great personalities from Rabindra Nath Tagore to Satyajit Ray have made a mark for Bengal in the world. We too promise to continue their legacy and will promote the rich culture of Bengal by nurturing the potentials and sharing our cultural wealth with Nepal.

Health is the other sector in which we want to lay our emphasis on. We will be encouraging different medical and pharmaceutical organizations to tie up with Nepalese counterparts in setting up hospitals and health care centers. We would also like to bring in the herbal medicines to Bengal and try to educate people about alternative medicines.

Nepal being very rich in Herbs has tremendous potential. The market is untapped and unexplored in a right way & thus we will try to tap foreign pharmaceutical companies and encourage them to use the fertile soil of Nepal in growing their desired herbs with their advance technology.

Transportation is the other main factor wherein we will try to enhance matters pertaining to road and air; we will try to involve Nepal Airways to start operating their flights from Kolkata.

Last but the most important is the education sector. Any hand holding regarding basic, primary to professional courses will be given stress on for the enhancement of knowledge in all possible ways to employability enhancement programs.

I am very much confident that under the guidance of His Excellency and with the support of the esteemed members, we will lead the crusade to strengthen the ties between the two countries.

With this note I would like to invite His Excellency to speak a few words to our esteemed members.
